2. Where do we source our nutrient information?

Our nutritional information is sourced from CheckYourFood Group which only use 'cleansed' food composition data that they created by comparing different data sources and correcting for mistakes that are there in the current UK and US databases. Mineral figures were obtained from Dietary Reference Values for Food Energy and Nutrients for the United Kingdom (1991) and the British Nutrition Foundation 1991.

Their information is obtained from the Quadram Institute  & the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other world food composition datasets.
The dietary recommended intake information (RDAs) for nutrients is based on that produced by the European Food Safety and the National Academy of Sciences.

What are RDIs?

Recommended Daily Intakes (RDIs) are a general set of guidelines that help us keep track of our daily nutritional needs. At Be100%, we recognise that each individual assimilates nutrients differently due to our individual genetics, epigenetics, environmental  factors and gut microbiomes, however, the RDIs provide a good baseline.

ORAC Units are based on USDA’s Nutrient Data Laboratory (NDL)
